Every Tuesday in Mr. Sclafani’s class we make cookies. When it was my turn I decided that I wanted to make snickerdoodles. Snickerdoodles are one of my favorite cookies and are so easy to make. The buttery cookie dough is then rolled in cinnamon and sugar giving it an amazing taste,  This recipe is tried and tested so it worked perfectly. This recipe is my moms so there is no way to site it but I will write down the recipe below and any comments in italic and parentheses.

For the cookie dough:

  • I c. butter or margarine (I use butter)
  • 1 ½ c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 ¾ c. flour
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • ¼ tsp. salt

For the sugar mixture:

  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 375°. Cream butter and sugar together (I use a stand mixer with a paddle attachment). Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Form dough into 1 inch balls (combine cinnamon and sugar in a bowl to make the mixture) and roll in the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are brown.
