Rockport New Year’s Eve announces the lineup for its 23rd annual “Small town, Big Celebration”.  Favorite performers from past years will be joined by some exciting new artists.  MAGMA Productions of Gloucester will present “GLOW”, a dance performance with audience participation.  Dynamic Boston quartet Los Sugar Kings will perform Afro-Cuban and Latin music and teach the Mambo and Merengue  to all who want to enjoy some dancing.  The energetic young musicians of Polyphony On The Groove will move audiences to the sounds of New Orleans funk, blues, and ska.  Local poets will read from their work as part of “20 / 20 Vision”.  Rockport’s lobstermen will demonstrate their craft with live lobsters.  A balloon drop at 8:45PM will welcome the new year for young families.

A wide range of entertainment for adults and children will once again begin at 6:00PM and culminate with a midnight ball drop.  The 17 downtown entertainment venues will include halls, churches, galleries, and restaurants, all within easy walking distance of one another.  The 2019 schedule has been posted on the new online schedule that is part of the redesigned website at rockportnye.org.  The online schedule will allow attendees to use their smart phones to navigate the event.  An enhanced brochure with a schedule and map will also be available.

Purchase of a button gives access to all events.  Buttons are available online now.  Buttons will also be sold at the Rockport New Year’s Eve food table at Rockport Harvestfest on October 19 and at other Cape Ann  locations beginning in November.
